Family-Friendly December Events that Won’t Hurt Your Wallet

If you’re looking for December events the whole family can enjoy, we have some ideas for activities you can all do together without breaking the bank (especially right before Christmas).

To Spend Less Than $20 Each

Go to the SIFF Cinema between Dec. 9 and Jan. 2 for their “Smell-O-Vision” version of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (apparently, it means goodie bags they claim Oompa Loompas have filled). Show times range from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Tickets are $15 for nonmembers. Cinema locations can be found here.

To Spend Less Than $10 Each

Head to Seattle for some of the winter-themed events that are a part of Winterfest at Seattle Center (305 Harrison Street, Seattle, WA 98109. You can see ice sculpting from noon to 2pm outside the Fisher Pavilion on Dec. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 for free. In addition, you can ice skate for $7 per adult, and $5 per child.
